Ashleigh Plumptre’s football journey is as inspiring as it is unique. Born and raised in England, she kicked off her love for the game at just four years old with Asfordby Amateurs. By eight, she was already showing promise at the Leicester City Centre of Excellence, spending seven years there before moving on to youth teams at Birmingham City and Derby County. At just 16, she made history as Notts County’s youngest-ever debutant. Her passion for both sports and academics took her to the U.S., where she played college soccer for the USC Trojans and earned a degree in human biology.
Despite representing England at youth levels, Ashleigh felt a strong pull toward her Nigerian roots—her paternal grandfather was from Lagos. This connection led her to switch allegiance and join the Super Falcons, making her unofficial debut in July 2021 and her official debut in February 2022.
